Bring your group cycling class into your home with the affordable LifeSpan S2 Indoor Cycling Bike. This easy to use, fully adjustable exercise bike gives you a great cardio workout with a natural feel of cycling outdoors. Simply adjust the seat and handlebars to fit your body and change resistance to simulate riding through valleys and climbing steep mountains.

The seat and no-slip handlebars fully adjust both in height and fore/aft positions. The simple resistance knob lets you quickly and easily change intensity levels, and standard components allow you to interchange your own favorite seat and pedals.

Features

Multi-Position Handlebars and Seat
Adjust the S2 indoor bike for a perfect fit and comfortable ride. Both the seat and handlebars adjust up, down, forward and backward in any combination. Raise and extend the handlebars, lower the seat or minimize the distance between the seat and handlebars to get a precise fit that will result in an injury-free, effective workout.

Quality Construction
The S2 bike is constructed with a heavy gauge steel frame, 40 lbs. balanced flywheel, Poly-V drive belt, micro-adjustable resistance knob with push brake, three-piece forged crank set, and alloy pedals with sealed bearings. These bike components combine to provide a natural cycling feel with smooth transitions as you ride.

About Indoor Cycling
Indoor cycling was invented in the late 80's. Group cycling classes at local health clubs have become increasingly popular over the past few years, and the number of home cyclists continues to rise.

Indoor cycling bikes have a heavy flywheel in the front which allows you to simulate the feel of an outdoor bike propelled by the pedals. Unlike regular exercise bikes which come to a stop when you remove your foot from the pedal, an indoor bike will continue to move due to the design of the bike. The result is that you get a natural cycling motion as if you were riding a bicycle outdoors. On an indoor bike, when you tighten the resistance and come out of the saddle as you ride, you feel as if you're cycling up a steep hill.

Indoor bikes like the LifeSpan S2 are made of strong steel with sturdy pedal cranks to support your body when you come off the saddle and put pressure on the pedals. In contrast, regular upright exercise bikes usually have a lighter flywheel balanced in the center of the bike and are designed to be used primarily while in a seated position.

Benefits of Indoor Cycling
Indoor cycling is an excellent cardiovascular exercise and can provide the following benefits:

  • Time-Efficient Calorie Burn
  • Tone Muscles, Lose Inches, Decrease Body Fat
  • Increase Cardio Endurance
  • Improve Overall Strength
  • Increase Energy
  • Stress Relief
  • Year Round Physical Activity

Proper Riding Position
For the most effective workout on the LifeSpan S2 indoor bike it is important for your body to be in proper riding position. When you sit on the seat, your knee should be slightly bent when the pedal is at the furthest point of rotation from your body. You should be able to pedal without locking your knee or shifting in the seat. The pedal straps should be tight enough to keep the ball of your foot on the pedals throughout the complete pedal rotation.

Upright Bike vs. Indoor Cycling Bike
An upright exercise bike is designed for the user to sit on the seat and use built-in programming. When the flywheel moves, the pedals don't move without pedaling.

An indoor cycling bike is designed to simulate outdoor cycling on a mountain or road bike. When the flywheel moves, the pedals will move.
